This is one of the first representational paintings I did when I picked up my paintbrush again. Looking back a very appropriate transition from deep grief and lonely ness to entering the most exciting yet challenging chapter of my life.
Fun fact my graduating show featured colorful trees from this very spot nearly 25 years ago.
I’m retroactively assigning hope as the main feeling here. The resilience of these pines to persist is encouraging.
