“Spring at Beaver Tail Creek”
5×7 Original acrylic painting on canvas board (unframed)
Chippewa County, MI 2026
I discovered Beaver Tail Creek on a late spring drive around back roads and ORV trails and thought for sure I could find some trout in here. I spent hours here looking, and I did spot a few but I never really found any in this particular stretch. This place is so damn calm it could be illegal. The peace and hope that spring brings shines in this one.
The Field Study Collection is a series I started to help get more original art on people's walls without a premium studio price tag. I paint most of these pieces live on location to capture the feeling and energy of a place. Sometimes they even serve as the direct inspiration for my larger studio works.
I don’t often offer prints of my work, so I created these small studies instead. It’s my way of making original art accessible. I leave these exactly as they were created, unframed and unvarnished. These paintings are a perfect approachable entry point and a great way to grab an original piece of my journey.
