“SolsticeI”
8x8 original Acrylic painting on backed wood panel (unframed, ready to hang)
Chippewa county, MI 2026
This is one of my very first paintings of my summer in the Upper Peninsula series. I took a bunch of photos of the sun on solstice shining through leaves and this was the winner.
I wanted to push the color as bright as possible as the sun was hitting that cedar swamp hard and capture the sun without actually painting the sun.
This one will always remind me of looking for fishing spots up and down 134 in the summertime.
