“Caribou Lake Sun and Clouds'“
5×7 Original acrylic painting on canvas board.
Chippewa County, MI 2026
This particular place is super fond and welcoming to me, I am out on the DNR boat launchh dock on the North side of Caribou lake and the sun sparkles against the water like millions of diamonds. It is such a peaceful place save for the boats coming in and out every once in a while. I painted this on a partly cloudy day in the summer of 26.
The Field Study Collection is a series I started to help get more original art on people's walls without a premium studio price tag. I paint most of these pieces live on location to capture the feeling and energy of a place. Sometimes they even serve as the direct inspiration for my larger studio works
I don’t often offer prints of my work, so I created these small studies instead. It’s my way of making original art accessible. I leave these exactly as they were created, unframed and unvarnished. These paintings are a perfect approachable entry point and a great way to grab an original piece of my journey.
